Suicideyear signs to LuckyMe and announces new EP ‘Hate Songs’ with first single out now.

LuckyMe Records have signed producer and songwriter Suicideyear. Suicideyear aka James Prudhomme hails from the home of No Limit Records – Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His sound is indebted to his environment – menacing tuned 808 drums coupled with angst-ridden emotive synth work – inspired by early shoegaze and punk bands throughout his formative teenage years.
Following on from the label announcement, Suicideyear has also announced his latest project, Hate Songs. The EP is due July 28th via LuckyMe and will be the producer’s first EP since 2014’s Remembrance. To coincide with the announcement, Suicideyear shares the lead single, “Lagniappe (Spring Hate).”

Hate Songs was recorded between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana. The six track project showcases his continued development as an exciting young producer at the forefront of futurist rap. The tracks glisten with sharpness; from the warmth of “Summer Hate” to the club-oriented “Mosh Mosh” and “Spent Days Watching Horses Die.” Each song, a unique reflection of the artist’s experiences and challenges over the course of a calendar year in his home state. It’s “for listening on I-55 to New Orleans from Hammond.” cites Prudhomme.

Fresh off a North American tour supporting Jacques Greene, Suicideyear will be debuting a new live performance at Sonar in Barcelona on June 17th. Hear “Lagniappe (Spring Hate)” above and find full EP details and the list EU tour dates below.
