Glass Animals Break Records With ‘Heat Waves’

Glass Animals’ 2020 single ‘Heat Waves’ has topped the Billboard Hot 100 for the fourth week running, making it the longest-running US Number 1 for a British band since Spice Girl’s Wannabe in 1996.

The track, taken from their album ‘Dreamland’, also holds the record for the longest time of any song to reach the US Top 10, taking 42 weeks to do so, as well as the  record for longest time to reach Number 1 (59 weeks).

As well as the Billboard Hot 100, ‘Heat Waves’ has also reached number 1 in Australia, Canada, India, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Switzerland as well as the Global 200. The single has gone Platinum in the US, UK, Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, Italy, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal and Spain.

It was also nominated for Best British Single at the 2022 Brit Awards.
