JONAS PERSSON

Jonas Persson’s list of musical credits is an enviable one – the Stockholm-born artist and producer has worked with some of the biggest bands of all time, scored acclaimed, award-winning films and had a hand in penning hits for chart-topping pop stars, all while keeping a distinct style and dedication to his craft.

Learning classical piano from the age of 6 and travelling the world as a choral vocalist as part of Stockholm’s Sofia Vokalensemble in his teens, Jonas has expertise in every corner of the popular musical landscape.

Moving to London to study Music Production and Engineering in 2000, Jonas took a job as a Recording Engineer at music publisher Music Sales, where he picked up a stunning list of credits over his two decades at the company, mixing his classical upbringing with forays into rock and pop.

This enviable wealth of experience makes Jonas a rare breed – an artist schooled in music from the old and new world, and highly skilled across the board, from co-writing to production, mixing, artist development and scoring.

With each discipline feeding into and informing each other, over his two decades in the music industry he’s become a genuinely unique all-rounder, able to take an artist from their infancy through to a polished finished product.

In his time at Music Sales, Jonas worked on repurposing old material with some of the most iconic British bands of all time. Producing re-recorded versions of Oasis‘ ‘Definitely Maybe’ alongside Liam Gallagher, and Muse‘s ‘Absolution’ with Matt Bellamy, as well as taping Led Zeppelin‘s most iconic tracks with help from Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, Jonas’ attention to detail came into focus, as did his expertise across a range of genres and styles.

Away from production, and leaning in once again to his classical roots, Jonas co-composed the score for the BAFTA-winning 2011 film ‘Tyrannosaur’ alongside director Paddy Considine, also contributing to the soundtracks to new films ‘Blooded’, ‘Cabbie’ and ‘Tulsa 21’

Adding to his reputation as a genuine all-rounder, since going freelance in 2018 and setting up his own studio on Berners Street in Soho, Jonas has worked on artist development projects with rising stars including L Devine, Joe Brown, Lokki and more, seeing through projects from their embryonic stage and finding a sound, style and place for artists.

Working with everyone from Fiona Bevan (One Direction, Ed Sheeran) to icons like Geri Halliwell, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Ludovico Einaudi, Jonas has scoured every corner of the musical landscape, giving him a comprehensive knowledge and set of expertise in guiding an artist from start to finish, and rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in the game.

Taking all these skills to original production, Jonas worked with British singer Fable, co-writing a full-length album which he also produced. Describing himself as a “catalyst” for artists with a strong creative vision, Jonas’ unrivalled skills across the board make him the perfect producer, engineer, co-writer and developer to help both aspiring and established artists flourish.
