James Righton

James Righton is a London based composer, artist and producer. After reaching international success with nu-rave originators Klaxons, winning the 2007 Mercury Prize for their debut album Myths of The Near Future, James evolved into one man pop sensation Shock Machine, releasing an acclaimed 2017 album, before his first solo adventure under his own name, 2020’s The Performer. His second album as James Righton, Jim, I’m Still Here, made in collaboration with Soulwax‘s David and Stephane Dewaele, was released in July 2022.

James composed the score for Simon Amstell‘s critically acclaimed 2019 feature film Benjamin, and is working on the director’s upcoming project Maria starring  Jonathan Bailey.  He also scored Amstell’s 2019 Netflix comedy special Set Free. He has also composed the score for upcoming film ‘I’ll be Right There’ starring Edie Falco

After being commissioned to put together the live band for the ABBA VOYAGE shows in London, James’ relationship with ABBA founder Benny Andersson resulted in a collaboration, with Benny playing keys on the Empty Rooms, a track on Jim, I’m Still Here.
