Lee Gamble

Lee Gamble is a British producer, musician and composer.

Gamble grew up in Birmingham on a soundtrack of dub, garage and jungle bleeding into grindcore metal and machine-strength techno, and still injects his art with this distinctive essence, concocting influential genre-agnostic music for PAN and Hyperdub, and running his own UIQ imprint.

His breakthrough release, Diversions 1994-1996 undoubtedly captured the zeitgeist or the burgeoning deconstructed music scene, earning widespread recognition as one of the decade’s defining albums. Since then he has continued to make pioneering electronic music – most recently 2023’s album Models, for which he worked with a set of simulated voices singing in an almost wordless language, both AI-generated and synthetic. 

He has presented his work internationally, at Southbank Centre, London, Tate Modern, ICA London, Barbican The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art,  Seoul, MoMA PS1, New York, Sonar Festival, Barcelona, MAC Musée d’art Contemporain, Montréal, Maison de la Radio et de la Musique, Paris and Palace of Culture and Science, Warsaw. He’s been commissioned by the London Contemporary Orchestra, Atonal Festival, UnSound Festival and Camden Arts Center

Most recently he has been touring with the live staging of Models, developed in collaboration with Spanish artist and choreographer Candela Capitán.
