Jessy Lanza

Jessy Lanza is a Canadian songwriter, producer and vocalist from Ontario, now based in Los Angeles.

Lanza grew up with musician parents and began making electronic music when her father passed away, experimenting with the synths and drum machines he had left her. She studied Jazz performance at university, but her breakthrough moment came when she started collaborating with Jeremy Greenspan of Junior Boys—initially as a backing vocalist, and later as a co-writer, a working relationship which has endured to this day. Greenspan also introduced her to Steve Goodman, AKA Hyperdub label boss Kode9.

Hyperdub released Lanza’s debut album Pull My Hair Back in 2013 to rave reviews and a Polaris Award nomination. She’s since released three further albums on the label, most recently 2023’s Love Hallucination, her catchiest and yet most intimate record yet.

She’s popular as a collaborator too, having worked with Caribou, Tensnake, Marie Davidson,  Loraine James and many more.

Lanza’s latest EP ‘Slapped By My Life’, shared in September 2025, mixes her typically playful, bouncy production style with contemplations on life’s unpredictability – showcasing her knack for interweaving difficult personal moments with pop euphoria.
