Mercury-nominated for his era-defining 2008 album Untrue, Burial is a once in a generation talent whose influence on contemporary electronic music is undeniable.

As the first signing to beloved electronic label Hyperdub in 2005, initial releases such as the South London Boroughs EP, and his self-titled debut LP spread like wildfire in the burgeoning UK dubstep and rave scene.

The release of his second album, 2008’s Untrue was met with widespread critical acclaim, and a coveted Mercury nomination. Since then he is yet to release another full-length LP, instead releasing music sporadically, and often in the form of collaborations.

His collaborators include Thom Yorke, Four Tet, Zomby and The Bug. His track ‘Archangel’ has been sampled by Rosalia in her 2022 single Candy.

Despite rarely giving interviews or performing live, Burial has amassed a cult following and a reputation as one of the UK’s best loved underground artists. His work also features heavily in the films of documentary maker Adam Curtis, who has said ” He’s got it, it’s the mood of our time that we’re waiting for. He’s way ahead of our time, an epic emotional artist.”

In 2024, Burial shared his first EP for XL Recordings, Dreamfear / Sent From Above – alongside providing score for Andrea Arnold’s ‘Bird’ and Harmony Korine’s ‘Baby Invasion’ – marking the enigmatic producer’s first foray into film.

The Comafields / Imaginary Festival EP followed in August 2025 on Hyperdub, as the artist continues to expand on his murky, ghostly vision of club’s past, present and future.
